I started making history videos in 2021 with two goals:
1) Help people answer some of London’s biggest questions, through history!
2) Combat the creeping nostalgia and sense of dread!

British history has had some pretty unpleasant times to be alive, full of the exact same problems, issues and challenges we face today! And it probably smelt worse!

I now create history videos under the handle @AliThomasGB on Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube for over 100,000 followers and millions of monthly views. Through these, I tell the stories that built the world we now live in and hopefully, inspire a bit of joy and/or hope!

And to pay the bills, I’m a freelance comms consultant. I’ve driven over 200 million views for employers and clients, won awards and helped organisations achieve their goals, with a bit of fun along the way!
